In Japan, three tea bowls are so rare they are National Treasures. They were fired in China's Jian kilns about 800 years ago, and their glaze shimmers like a night sky. No potter since has been able to make one on purpose.
The Japanese have a word for what made them: yōhen. It means "kiln change," the moment the fire takes over from the maker.

Will my mug look like the photos?
It will be the color you choose, but the exact pattern is decided in the kiln. The pools, drips and speckles on yours will be unique. That's the whole point of Fireprint.
Is the lid leak-proof?
It's a spill-resistant sip lid, like the one on a coffee shop cup. It's great for the walk to the car or your desk, but it isn't made to be tossed in a bag on its side.
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?
Hand wash with warm, soapy water to protect the glaze. Not for the microwave or dishwasher.
How long does shipping take?
