These photos show a few of our mugs. Yours will be its own, because no two come out of the kiln the same.
No two alike.
The fire decides.
A real ceramic mug with a reactive glaze that melts and flows in the kiln — so the pattern on yours happened once, and never again. Coffee that tastes like coffee, with a lid and sleeve for the days you're on the move.
There are only three cups like it in the world.
In Japan, three tea bowls are so rare they are National Treasures. They were fired in China's Jian kilns about 800 years ago, and their glaze shimmers like a night sky. Potters have tried to make another one on purpose for centuries. The fire has never agreed.
The Japanese have a word for what made them: yōhen. It means "kiln change," the moment the fire takes over from the maker.
Fireprint is inspired by that idea. Every one of our mugs goes into the kiln looking the same and comes out different. The glaze melts, pools and flows in the heat, so the colors that settle on yours will never happen again. Like a fingerprint, left by fire.

Same glaze. Same kiln. A completely different cup.
These two mugs got the exact same glaze and went into the same kiln. Look at how differently they came out.
At full heat, the glaze pools, drips and flows in its own direction. When it cools, it holds a pattern that happened once and will never happen again.
You pick the color. The fire picks the pattern.

No. 1No. 2Glazed by hand in a town built on fire.
Every Fireprint is made in Dehua, in China's Fujian province, a town that has been firing ceramics for centuries. Its historic kiln sites are part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing.
Each mug passes through nine steps and at least nine pairs of hands. It is dipped into its glaze by hand, then fired at 2,370°F for over ten hours. When the kiln opens, no one knows exactly what they'll find.

Made for your quiet first cup, and for the days you take it with you.

Coffee that tastes like coffee
Real ceramic, inside and out. You get the flavor of your coffee, with no metallic tang from steel and no plastic taste from a throwaway lid.

Color all the way in
The glaze keeps going on the inside. Look down into your cup and the pattern is still there.

Ready when you are
A soft silicone sip lid keeps spills down on the walk to the car. A ribbed sleeve keeps your hands comfortable.

Nobody else has yours
Ten colors, and endless variation inside each one. The mug that arrives at your door is the only one like it.

Two mugs. Never the same.
Just like you two.
One for you and one for her. Your daughter, your mom, your best friend. Pick your colors side by side, then watch how the fire made each one its own.

Questions
Will my mug look like the photos?
It will be the color you choose, but the exact pattern is decided in the kiln. The pools, drips and speckles on yours will be unique. That's the whole point of Fireprint.
Is the lid leak-proof?
It's a spill-resistant sip lid, like the one on a coffee shop cup. It's great for the walk to the car or your desk, but it isn't made to be tossed in a bag on its side.
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?
Hand wash with warm, soapy water to protect the glaze. Not for the microwave or dishwasher.
How long does shipping take?
Kiln fired and packed with care. Arrives in 7 to 10 business days, always with free shipping.
What if it arrives broken?
Send us a photo and we'll send you a new one, free. Ceramic travels a long way, and we've got you covered.
Somewhere in the kiln, yours is already waiting.
